I know that this SDA doctrine (investigative judgement ) is one of the most intriguing if not is the reason of many for them to doubt, ask and not believe the church and afterwards give up adventism. I found one blog that stated this : "Specifically they wondered about the investigative judgment and whether it really began in 1844. They asked if it was even appropriate for believers in Jesus to have their salvation threatened—or at least called into question—by being subjected to the scrutiny of judgment. " What if someone ask me the same question, how can i answer? | |

Those people who questions the investigative judgment have a problem with their understanding on salvation. Most of these people believed or influenced by the "Once Saved Always Saved" or the so-called "Eternal Security" theology. This doctrine teach that once you are saved by faith you don't have to worry about your salvation because it is already secured once and for all. Therefore, according to them, you don't have to fear any judgment. They even use Romans 8:1 to prove this. I agree with the fact that AS LONG AS YOU ARE IN CHRIST no need to fear for the judgment. How about if you did not remain in Christ? What will Christ tell you? Those who do not remain in me are thrown out like a branch and dry up; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, where they are burned. (Joh 15:6 GNB) If you deny the investigative judgment you are actually denying the Biblical teaching that the people of God would still face judgment in the future based on their works. The time has come for judgment to begin, and God's own people are the first to be judged. If it starts with us, how will it end with those who do not believe the Good News from God? (1Pe 4:17 GNB)
And I saw the dead, great and small alike, standing before the throne. Books were opened, and then another book was opened, the book of the living. The dead were judged according to what they had done, as recorded in the books. (Rev 20:12 GNB) For all of us must appear before Christ, to be judged by him. We will each receive what we deserve, according to everything we have done, good or bad, in our bodily life. (2Co 5:10 GNB) God is going to judge everything we do, whether good or bad, even things done in secret. (Ecc 12:14 GNB) The above passages are clear. Those people who avoid the investigative judgment are just reacting based on their fear of the outcome of their performance since nobody is perfect. Either they believe this doctrine or not the Bible is clear about the reality of the judgment.
